A mixture of lithium hydroxide (11.2 mg, 0.468 mmol) and ethyl 2-((5S,6S,9S)-5-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)-6-(2,3-difluorophenyl)-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-cyclohepta[b]pyridin-9-yl)acetate (27.8 mg, 0.060 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (3 mL) and water (0.3 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. The solvent was removed via high vacuum and the crude product (MS(ESI)[M+H+]=433.17) was used as is in the next step.
