A mixture of lithium hydroxide (11.2 mg, 0.468 mmol) and ethyl 2-((5S,6S,9R)-5-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)-6-(2,3-difluorophenyl)-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-cyclohepta[b]pyridin-9-yl)acetate (118.1 mg, 0.256 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (3 mL) and water (0.3 mL) was stirred at room temperature over night. LCMS showed complete conversion. The reaction was dried under high vacuum and the crude product (MS(ESI)[M+H+]=433.17) was used as is in the next step.
