Procedure
To a solution of tert-butyl 2-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (70 mg, 0.250 mmol) and DCM (5 mL) was added TFA (0.50 mL, 6.49 mmol). After 1 hour, the reaction was washed with 10% Na2CO3. The organic layer was treated with TEA (0.070 mL, 0.499 mmol), then acetic anhydride (0.024 mL, 0.250 mmol). After 15 minutes, LC-MS shows conversion to the desired product [M+1=223]. The reaction was washed with water and concentrated in vacuo to give 1-(2-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)piperidin-1-yl)ethanone as a yellow oil.
