{(R)-1-[9-((1R,2S,3R,4S)-2,3-Dihydroxy-4-propionylamino-cyclopentyl)-6-(2,2-diphenyl-ethylamino)-9H-purin-2-yl]-pyrrolidin-3-yl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester trifluoroacetate (3.22 g, 4.80 mmol) is dissolved in 1.25 M HCl in MeOH (60 ml, 75 mmol) and left to stir at room temperature overnight. The solvent is removed in vacuo and the crude product is dissolved in a minimal volume of EtOH/saturated sodium carbonate solution and purified by reverse phase column chromatography (Isolute™ C18, 0-100% MeOH in water) to yield the title product.
