Procedure
A mixture of 3-[4-(N-ethoxycarbonyloxycarbamimidoyl)-phenyl]-2-(3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-propionic acid methyl ester (30 mg, 68 μmol), sodium carbonate (2.0 g), dimethylformamide (10 ml), and water (10 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 2 days. The reaction mixture was evaporated, and the residue solved in potassium hydrogen sulfate solution and ethyl acetate. The organic layer was evaporated and gave after lyophilization 22 mg of the desired product (85% yield). MS m/z: 379.1 (M+H)+.
