A solution of 3-{[4-(3-Chloro-propoxy)-plienylamino]-methylene}-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one (45 mg, 0.137 mmol) and NaI (103 mg, 5 equiv.) in 1 mL acetone is heated at 80° C. overnight. The reaction mixture is cooled to room temperature and evaporated to dryness. The residue is dissolved in EtOAc and H2O. The organic layer is collected and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated to give the named compound as yellow solid (100%).
