0.06 mole (20 g) of 5-(ethoxycarbonylamino) -2-(benzyloxycarbonylamino)phenol in 60 ml of 96° strength ethanol to which 40 ml of cyclohexene and 4 g of palladinized charcoal (10% palladium) are added is heated to reflux for 30 minutes. After removal of the catalyst by filtration while hot, the expected product is precipitated by adding 17.5 ml of ethanolic hydrochloric acid (7M) to the cooled filtrate. After drying, analysis of the product obtained gives the following results:
