Procedure

N-butyl-N-(2-isopropylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)acetamide 16 (287 mg, 1.05 mmol) was reacted with LiAlH4 (2 eq., 2.10 mmol, 80 mg) in THF (10 ml) at room temperature. Progress of the reaction was monitored by TLC. Aqueous NaOH solution was used to quench the reaction. Solids were filtered and washed with ethyl acetate and the product was purified by column chromatography, eluting with ethyl acetate.
