This compound was prepared in a fashion analogous to the procedure described in Example 38a. Thus, 3-(4-piperidinyl)-5-(3-thienyl)-1H-indazole-7-carboxamide hydrochloride (Intermediate 19) (25 mg, 0.076 mmol) was reacted with 3-chloropropane sulfonyl chloride (30 uL, 0.242 mmol) in DMF (4 mL) to give 3-{1-[(3-chloropropyl)sulfonyl]-4-piperidinyl}-5-(3-thienyl)-1H-indazole-7-carboxamide, which was used in the next step without further purification.
