Procedure
A 50 ml two-necked recovery flask equipped with a thermometer and a calcium chloride tube was charged with 4.26 g (40 mmol) of 2-chloroethylvinyl ether (manufactured by Tokyo Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd.) and 0.2 g of a platinum catalyst (“BY 24-835” manufactured by Toray-Dow Corning Co.). Then, 4.89 g (40 mmol) of trimethoxysilane (manufactured by Tokyo Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd.) was slowly added with stiffing while controlling the temperature at 50° C. or less. After then, more 0.2 g of the platinum catalyst was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature (20° C.) for 6 hours. The reaction mixture was distilled under reduced pressure to obtain 7.32 g of the target 2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethyltrimethoxysilane.
