To a yellow solution of 2-methyl-N-(3-(pyrimidin-2-yl)oxetan-3-yl)propane-2-sulfinamide (0.025 g, 0.098 mmol) in MeOH (1 ml) in a 10 ml round-bottomed flask was added a solution of HCl in diethyl ether (0.098 ml, 0.392 mmol, 4N). The reaction mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 10 min., and then concentrated at 25° C. The residue was washed with n-hexane and dried to give the titled product as a white solid (0.017 g, 93%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 9.15 (bs, 2H), 9.01 (d, J=4.8 Hz, 2H), 7.64 (t, J=5.0 Hz, 1H), 5.00 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 2H), 4.87 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 2H).
