Procedure

According to Scheme 7, Step 6: A solution of 4-(1-(4-methoxybenzyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-2-(pyridin-2-yloxy)thiazole-5-carbonitrile (0.26 mmol, 153 mg) in TFA (5 mL) was stirred at 100° C. for 10 minutes under microwave conditions. After cooling to room temperature, the mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was diluted with EtOAc and was washed with a saturated aqueous solution of NaHCO3. The organic phase was dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give 4-(1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-2-(pyridin-2-yloxy)thiazole-5-carbonitrile as a white solid (29 mg, 28%).
