A mixture of 3′-amino-6-methyl-N-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]biphenyl-3-carboxamide (150 mg, 0.41 mmol) and 3-bromo-2-chloropyridine (90 mg, 0.47 mmol) was heated neat to 180° C. in an oil bath. The temperature was increased to 200° C., and then heating was discontinued and the reaction mixture was allowed to stir for 72 h. The resulting solid was dissolved in methanol and purified by flash column chromatography (eluting with a gradient of 0-40% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to afford product (87 mg, 39%).
