To a mixture of 6-[(2-chloropyridin-4-yl)oxy]quinoline-3-carboxylic acid (Int-31, 0.358 g, 1.19 mmol) and palladium (10% on carbon 0.07 g) in ethanol (5 mL) was added triethylamine (1 mL, 7.2 mol). The reaction flask was carefully evacuated and backfilled with an atmosphere of hydrogen from a balloon. After stirring at room temperature under hydrogen over night the flask was carefully purged with nitrogen and the suspension filtered through Celite. The filtrate was concentrated and used as obtained in the following step. LC-MS: (FA) ES+ 267.
