Reaction Steps

Aqueous 1 N NaOH solution (5 ml) was added to a solution of N-[1-(4-trifluoromethoxybenzenesulfonyl)piperidin-4-yloxy]oxalamic acid ethyl ester in tetrahydrofuran-methanol (1:1, 10 ml) and stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction was quenched with aqueous 1 N HCl solution (6 ml). The resulting precipitation was collected and washed with H2O to give N-[1-(4-trifluoromethoxybenzenesulfonyl)piperidin-4-yloxy]oxalamic acid (422 mg).
