A mixture of tert-butyl 4-(3-(4-fluorophenyl)ureidooxy)piperidine-1-carboxylate (1.5 g, 4.2 mmol) and 1 N HCl solution in dioxane (25 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours and concentrated in vauo. The residual solid was triturated with diethyl ether (100 ml) to give 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-(piperidin-4-yloxy)urea hydrochloride (1.1 g, 90%) as a white solid.
