Reaction Steps
Z-α-phosphonoglycine trimethyl ester (1.6 g) was dissolved in EtOH (5 mL) and treated with a solution of LiOH.H2O (408 mg) in MeOH/H2O (5 mL/2 mL). The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 30 min and the solvent was removed. The crude (1.5 g) was used directly in the next step.
