Reaction Steps
To 8-chloro[1]benzothieno[3,2-c]pyridine-1-ol in AcOH (0.3 M) was added Br2 (1.1 equiv). The resulting mixture was heated at 120° C. for 1 h, cooled to room temperature, poured into H2O and filtered. The solid was suspended in acetone, sonicated and filtered to provide the title compound.
