Procedure
The product of Step 2 was dissolved in a 2:3 (v/v) mixture of EtOH and conc. NH4OH (0.027 M) in a stainless steel Parr pressure vessel. The vessel was sealed and the reaction was heated for 16 h at 145° C. After cooling to 0° C., the mixture was concentrated to dryness under vacuum and the resulting solid was stirred with 1:10 EtOAc:hexanes containing 10% MeOH to give the title compound as an off-white solid.
