Reaction Steps
A solution of 3-(2-aminoethyl)-4-chloro-5-methoxy-indole (260 mg, 1.03 mmol) in propionic anhydride (4 ml) was evaporated to dryness in vacuo at 40° C. Purification by chromatography (SiO2 ; EtOAc) gave 3-(2-propionyl-aminoethyl)-4-chloro-5-methoxyindole (290 mg).
