Procedure
A solution of 2.4 g of 12 and 0.25 g of sodium hydroxide in 50 ml of aqueous ethanol was refluxed for one hour, and extracted with ether. The extract was dried and concentrated. The residue was crystallized from ether-hexane to give 13, as a white solid, m.p.: 67°-68° C.
