A solution of tert-butyl ester 98 (0.595 g, 2.05 mmol) in 1:1 trifluoroacetic acid:DCM (6 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 3 h then concentrated to give title compound 99 (used as is in the next reaction). LRMS: 234.14 (calc) 235.1 (obs)
