Reaction Steps

To a solution of tert-butyl 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-6-(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-hydroxyethyl)isonicotinate (0.56 g, 1.44 mmol) in dichloromethane (3 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (3 mL). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature. After 18 h, additional trifluoroacetic acid (1 mL) was added and the mixture was stirred at ambient for 1 h. The mixture was concentrated to dryness to give the title compound (0.43 g). MS 334.2 (M+1).
