To a mixture of trans-{4-[2-(4-Benzo[1,3]dioxol-4-yl-piperidin-1-yl)-ethyl]-cyclohexyl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (1.06 g, 2.46 mmol,) in dichloromethane (15 ml) was added at room temperature hydrochloric acid solution (4M in dioxane, 6.15 ml, 24.6 mmol,) and the mixture was allowed to stir for 4 h, the solvent was evaporated, diisopropyl ether (15 ml) were added and the mixture was allowed to stir for 10 min at room temperature. The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with diisopropyl ether and dried to yield the title compound as a white solid (0.954, 100%), MS m/z=330.23 [(M)+].
