Reaction Steps
2-(tert-Butoxycarbonylamino)-4-(2-chlorophenyl)butanoic acid (2.25 g) was dissolved in 4 N HCl in dioxane (20 mL, 11 eq) and stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solution was then concentrated delivering product as a yellow solid (1.49 g, 83% yield).
