850 mg 5,7-dichloro-6-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine (prepared as described for example 1) is dissolved in 18 ml of a 8M Solution of MeNH2 in methanol and stirred at room temperature for 1.5 h. The product precipitates upon dilution with water and cooling to 0° C. The solid material is collected by filtration and washed twice with water to yield the desired material.
