A suspension of 9H-1,3,6,9-Tetraaza-fluoren-4-ol (330 mg) and 500 μL of triethylamine were stirred vigorously overnight at 100° C. in 10 mL phosphorous oxychloride. The reaction mixture was then concentrated in vacuo and a small amount of the title compound was isolated by triturating the residue with water. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give 363 mg of title compound which was used without further purification. LCMS (1): Rt 1.11 min; m/z 205 [M+H]+.
