5-(5-Ethyl-2-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridin-3-yl)thiophene-2-sulfonyl chloride is reacted with (2-methoxyethyl)amide as described in Step 5, Example 24 to give the title compound as a solid (26% yield). LC/MS: RT 2.51 min; m/e 357 (M+H); 1H NMR (δ, ppm): 11.82 (1H, s), 7.97 (1H, t), 7.54 (1H, d), 7.33 (1H, s); 7.16 (1H, d), 3.34 (2H), 3.32 (3H, s), 3.01 (2H), 2.39 (2H, q), 2.31 (3H, s), 1.07 (3H, t).
