To a solution of 5-(2-ethylbenzoimidazol-1-yl)-7-morpholin-4-ylthiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidine-2-carbaldehyde (1.2 g, 3.04 mmol) in DCE (30 mL) was added MeOH (3 mL) and NaBH4 (119 mg, 3.15 mmol) and the resulting mixture stirred at r.t. for 4 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the resulting residue triturated with H2O. The resulting solid was collected by filtration and dried in vacuo affording the title compound (1.18 g, 98%). LCMS (method H): RT 2.42 min, [M+H]+ 397.4
