Procedure
Under nitrogen atmosphere 30 g of 2-amino-3-carbethoxyamino-6-(4-fluoro-benzylamino)-pyridine and 7.5 g of propionic acid were added to 500 ml of isopropanol. The mixture was heated to 60° C. A transparent solution of flupirtine propionate was formed and was kept for 30 min at 50° C. The solution was filtered at 20° C. and crystallisation occurred while cooling the solution down to −5° C. for 12 h. The product was collected by filtration and dried at reduced pressure at room temperature for 12 h. As a result of drying 25 g white crystals of the product were obtained.
