According to the general procedure (GP13), Boc-deprotection of 1,3-dichloro-8-[2-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-ethyl]-5,6-dihydro-8H-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazine-7-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (185.7 mg; 0.400 mmol) and purification by FC (DCM/MeOH/25% aq. NH4OH=150/10/1) gave the expected product 1,3-dichloro-8-[2-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-ethyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazine as a yellow oil (121 mg; 0.332 mmol; 83%). LC-MS: tR=0.79 min.; [M+H]+=364.11 g/mol.
