Pyridinium tribromide (0.567 g, 1.77 mmol) was added to a solution of 1-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-2-(3-isopropyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazin-6-yl)ethanone (0.488 g, 1.54 mmol; Preparation #K.1) in THF (6 mL) and the resulting reaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for about 4 h. The crude mixture was diluted with DCM (20 mL) and washed with water. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the crude title compound (0.61 g, 100%): LC/MS (Table 1, Method a) Rt=3.28 min; MS m/z: 396.9 (M+H)+.
