tert-Butyl 4-(cyclohexylamino)-2-(4-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenylamino)-7,8-dihydropyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine-6(5H)-carboxylate (124 mg, 0.25 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (2 mL). Hydrochloric acid (7.48 μL, 0.25 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was stirred at 75° C. for 1 h. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the crude N4-cyclohexyl-N2-(4-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4-diamine (93 mg, 94%) was used as such in the subsequent step.
