tert-Butyl 2-(4-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenylamino)-4-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)methylamino)-7,8-dihydropyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine-6(5H)-carboxylate (62 mg, 0.12 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (3 mL). Hydrochloric acid (3.63 μL, 0.12 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 1 h. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the crude N2-(4-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)-N4-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)methyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4-diamine (49.0 mg, 98%) was used as such in the subsequent step.
