Di-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methanone (0.554 g, 3.42 mmol) was added in small portions to a stirred solution of 3-(tetrahydrofuran-2-yl)propanoic acid (0.469 g, 3.25 mmol) in dichloromethane (3 mL) at room temperature under argon. The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The mixture was washed twice with water, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated resulting a quantitative yield of 1-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-3-(tetrahydrofuran-2-yl)propan-1-one (632 mg, 100%).
