Method B applied to 4-chloro-3-nitropyridine (79 mg, 0.5 mmol) and N-(4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide (99 mg, 0.6 mmol) afforded the title compound as viscous oil (84 mg, 70%). 1H NMR (DMSO) δ 2.55 (s, 3H), 3.88 (s, 3H), 7.21 (d, J=8.8Hz, 2H), 7.57 (d, J=8.8Hz, 2H), 7.69 (d, J=5.4Hz, 1H), 8.57 (d, J=5.4Hz, 1H), 9.44 (s, 1H).
