335 mg (1.1 mmol) of [5-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-pyrimidin-2-yloxy]-acetic acid tert-butyl ester in 10 ml of 90% aqueous TFA were allowed to stand at room temperature for 3 h. After evaporation, a sodium hydrogencarbonate solution was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The aqueous phase was acidified to pH=4, extracted with ethyl acetate, and the combined organic phases were dried and evaporated. Yield: 51 mg.
