Procedure

A solution of 0.65 g (3.8 mmol) of m-chloroperbenzoic acid in 20 ml of chloroform was dropped into a solution of 1.00 g (2.98 mmol) of the 4-(3,4-methylenedioxybenzyl)amino-6-methylsulfinylquinazoline prepared in Example 137 under stirring at room temperature. The obtained mixture was stirred at room temperature for several hours, washed with a saturated aqueous solution of sodium hydrogencarbonate, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and filtered. The filtrate was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate) and recrystallized from chloroform/n-hexane to give 0.85 g of the title compound as a yellow crystal.
