A mixture of 8-fluoro-2-isopropenyl-4-methyl-3-(4-pyrazol-1-ylbenzyl)quinolin-5-ol (0.13 g), palladium hydroxide (0.047 g) and methanol (3.4 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 20 hours under an atmosphere of hydrogen. The mixture was filtered through Celite and concentrated under reduced pressure. Purification of the residue by column chromatography on silica gel, eluting with a mixture of cyclohexane and ethyl acetate (1:0 to 1:1 by volume) gave title compound as a white foam (0.077 g).
