0.391 g of 6-iodo-N-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carboxamide, 0.237 g of phenylboronic acid, 45 mg of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium, 4 ml of 2M aqueous sodium carbonate solution, 6 ml of acetonitrile and 6 ml of toluene are charged to a microwave tube. The mixture is heated for 20 minutes in the microwave device adjusted to 150° C. After cooling, the organic phase is separated, dried and evaporated. The residue is taken up in a mixture of dichloromethane and pentane. The solid is filtered off and then purified by triturating from methanol to give 0.22 g of N,6-diphenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carboxamide in the form of an ecru solid.
