Reaction Steps
In the manner of step (b) of Example 1, 1,3-bis(cycloheptylmethyl)urea (from step (a), 3.99 g, 14.23 mmol) was converted to 6-amino-1,3-bis(cyclopentylmethyl)uracil (3.22 g, 65%), m.p. 194°-197° C.; 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6) consistent with structure.
