(S)-α-[N-[(1,1-Dimethylethyl)carbonyl]amino]-4-methoxy-α-methylbenzeneacetic acid (preparation described in step A of Example 101) was condensed with 3,4-(methylenedioxy)aniline following the procedure described in step A of Example 99. Pure (S)-N-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-α-[N-[(1,1-dimethylethyl)carbonyl]]amino!-4-methoxy-α-methyl-benzeneacetamide, obtained after chromatography on silica gel using 30% EtOAc/hexane as eluant, was converted to the title compound following the procedure described in step A of Example 98.
