Following a procedure similar to that described in Example 3(a), but using 0.90 g of 2-(3-pyridylmethyleneaminooxy)ethanol (prepared as described in Preparation 5), 2.00 g of 5-(4-hydroxybenzyl)-3-tritylthiazolidine-2,4-dione, 1.32 ml of tributylphosphine and 1.23 g of 1,1'-(azodicarbonyl)dipiperazine, 1.37 g of the title compound were obtained as a crystalline powder, melting at 155°-157° C.
