Starting from 2-chloro-8-isopropyl-5-methyl-7,8-dihydro-5H-pteridin-6-one (9.35 g; 38.85 mmol) and 3-methansulfonyl-5-nitro-phenylamine (8.4 g; 38.5 mmol), 9.4 g (22.38 mmol; 57.5% yield) of the desired nitro-product were obtained as a powder.
