To a solution of 5-(4-iodo-phenyl)-7-methylsulfanyl-pyrazolo[1,5-c]pyrimidin (1000 mg) in chlorobenzene N-bromosuccinimide (730 mg) is added. The mixture is stirred for 1 hour then the chlorobenzene is evaporated. The residue is partitioned between ethylacetate and sodium-hydrogencarbonate (5%).
