HBr (33% in acetic acid) (5 mL) was added to (2S,4S)-methyl 2-(cyclohexylmethyl)-4-(3-oxo-2,3-dihydroisoxazol-5-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate, from a preparation of example 21, step 1 (0.27 g, 0.85 mmol). The reaction was stirred vigorously overnight. The solvent was evaporated. Purification using PrepLC (pH=11, small column, sample dissolved in acetonitrile/water (40/60), gradient 15-55, 20 minutes) gave the title compound (75 mg, 33%). 1H NMR (600 MHz, cd3od) δ 0.80-0.95 (m, 2H), 1.03-1.27 (m, 3H), 1.29-1.47 (m, 4H), 1.53-1.72 (m, 6H), 2.05 (d, 1H), 2.13 (d, 1H), 2.82-2.90 (m, 1H), 2.97 (td, 1H), 3.13 (s, 1H), 3.31 (d, 1H), 5.40 (s, 1H).
