A solution of amine 84 (480 mg, 0.87 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) was cooled to 0° C. and treated with TEA (0.18 mL, 1.30 mmol) followed by dimethylcarbamyl chloride (0.10 mL, 1.04 mmol). The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to ambient temperature. After 6 h, the reaction mixture was diluted with DCM, washed successively with 1M HCl, and brine, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to afford 88 (612 mg, 100%) as a white foam that was used without further purification. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz): δ7.04 (q, J=9.0, 18.3 Hz, 1H), 6.88 (br s, 1H), 6.75-6.67 (m, 1H), 6.61-6.56 (m, 1H), 4.79-4.51 (m, 2H), 4.31 (d, J=5.7 Hz, 1H), 4.08-4.01 (m, 1H), 3.99-3.94 (m, 1H), 3.81-3.72 (m, 1H), 3.54-3.49 (m, 1H), 3.41-3.25 (m, 2H), 2.85-2.79 (m, 9H), 2.05-2.03 (m, 2H), 1.49-1.42 (m, 9H), 1.31 (d, J=6.9 Hz, 3H), 0.99 (s, 9H) ppm.
