To a solution of Intermediate 72 (6.4 g, 9.63 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (60 mL) was added tetra-n-butyl ammonium fluoride (5.02 g, 19.26 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. Purification by column chromatography using methylene chloride/methanol (from 95:5 to 85:15) as eluent gave 8-(benzyloxy)-5-((1R)-2-{[6-(2,2-difluoro-2-phenylethoxy)hexyl]amino)}-1-hydroxy ethy)quinolin-2(1H)-one (1.1 g, 20%) as oil.
