A mixture of ethyl 2-(4-((dimethylamino)methyl)phenyl)-4-oxo-3-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-5-carboxylate (150 mg, 0.30 mmol) and hydrazine monohydrate (0.5 mL) in methanol (10 mL) was stirred at 30° C. overnight. The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to give crude product, which was purified by flash chromatography to give the title compound (60 mg, yield 34.5%) as a white solid. LC-MS (ESI) m/z: 465 (M+1)+. 1H-NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ (ppm): 2.64 (s, 3H), 2.65 (s, 3H), 4.19-4.20 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 2H), 4.53-4.55 (d, J=9.2 Hz, 1H), 4.88-4.90 (d, J=9.2 Hz, 1H), 7.20-7.22 (d, J=7.6 Hz, 1H), 7.35-7.46 (m, 7H), 7.50 (s, 1H), 7.56-7.63 (m, 3H), 9.69-9.71 (br s, 1H), 12.20 (s, 1H).
