{4-[3-Isobutoxy-5-(3-morpholin-4-yl-prop-1-ynyl)-phenylsulfanyl]-2-methyl-phenoxy}-acetic acid ethyl ester (140 mg; 0.28 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (15 mL), and aqueous 1 N sodium hydroxide (3 mL) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h, acidified with 1 N aqueous hydrochloric acid, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was dried and evaporated to dryness. Yield: 130 mg. HPLC-MS: m/z: 470.0 (M+); Rt: 1.76 min. δH (400 MHz; CDCl3) 1.00 (d, 6H), 1.98-2.09 (m, 1H), 2.27 (s, 3H), 3.13-3.29 (m, 2H), 3.43-3.57 (m, 2H), 3.66 (d, 2H), 3.92-4.09 (m, 4H), 4.12 (s, 2H), 4.71 (s, 2H), 6.55 (m, 1H), 6.71-6.75 (m, 2H), 6.79 (m, 1H), 7.25-7.29 (m, 1H), 7.30 (m, 1H).
